Youth Exchange in France

The aim of the “Ecomedia Utopia” exchange is to reflect and exchange ideas on the impact that our media practices have on the environment, at three levels: The ecological footprint of the media (the material impact that the media have on the environment, from the extraction process to its disposal) – Environmental Communication (how the media communicate about the environment and how they address the issue of the climate crisis) – The mind-print of the media (how the digitalisation of our lives affects our physical and mental health and changes our perception of the world).

The goals of the project are:

• to develop critical thinking around the impact of the media on the environment and the climate crisis;
• to better understand our own media devices and practices;
• seek the collective empowerment of young people to be agents of change;
• promote the power of the media to positively communicate green solutions;
• introduce to digital mindfulness and digital detox;
• create videos reflecting on the theme of ecomedia;
• promoting intercultural learning, active citizenship and social inclusion;
• promoting European values and improving interpersonal skills.

For this Youth Exchange, we are looking for 5 participants (18-25) and a group leader (18+) with the following characteristics:

• interested in the topic of the project and motivated to learn about ecomedia;
• motivated to participate in an intercultural learning experience and with a strong motivation to learn and acquire new skills;
• with a basic level of English;
• willing to make an eco-travel (bus, train, etc.) to the exchange location.

For the entire duration of the project, food and accommodation are fully funded by the Erasmus+ programme. Travel expenses are reimbursed within a limit set by the Erasmus+ Programme. It is compulsory to keep and hand over to the host organisation the original copy of the boarding passes and all the tickets of the means of transport used both for the outward and return journey. Once selected, a fee of 30 euros must be paid, which refers to the annual membership fee to the Brújula Intercultural Association.
